Welcome to the Mount Gambier Men's Shed
The Men’s Shed movement is very strong in Australia. We are closed between 22nd Dec 2023 and 3rd Jan 2024
It provides venues for men to gather and to socialise: to share experiences and support each other. It is recognised as an important aspect of the Men’s Health movement, and has, through the Australian Men’s Shed Association, received significant Commonwealth Government funding.
State and Local Government also recognize the benefits the shed can provide to the general well-being of men – particularly those who feel isolated, or have become disengaged from the mainstream of the community.
Opening hours for the shed is 9am till 12pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays
In every Men’s Shed, the most popular activity is morning tea. Contrary to popular opinion, men do communicate well, both shoulder to shoulder and face to face. The Shed environment is welcoming and accepts all men. No skills are needed, and for those who wish to participate in practical activities, there will always be plenty of help and encouragement to get started. Men are always keen to share both knowledge and skills.
In Mount Gambier we lease a large shed from the Mount Gambier City Council.
We welcome enquiries from men, their families or friends. We endeavour to provide a warm, non-threatening and safe environment.
